For about a day there, we were back to temperatures that don't cause my body to just shut down and refuse to work. But as of today...well see the picture above if you're wondering how that's going. Winter outside, me inside. BUT that is actually a blessing. Because I have a whole lotta stuff to catch up on this weekend (aka, Christmas decorations to take down because I'm not good at adulting.) Ok, I guess I'm begrudgingly thankful for the snow.
Today is the feast day of St. Hilary of Poitiers. He had bigger problems to worry about than the snow, hard as that may be to believe. He is largely credited with defending the Trinity, and the Church's teaching against the Arian Heresy. A humble man, he did NOT want to be chosen as a bishop, but there wasn't a whole lot of choice back then. Can you imagine that now? You're smart, and you're Catholic, time to be a bishop! Not gonna lie, sometimes I wish God would do that to me. "Ok little lost puppy, here is what you're supposed to do..." Or maybe He's trying too and I just don't listen. Anyway, the good news is, St. Hilary listened.
My challenge to myself today...get my life put back together after Christmas. And listen to God. That should keep me busy enough to forget how cold I am. Fingers crossed!
