Happy Tuesday friends!! Well, it snowed again yesterday here in Ohio. In case you missed it, it is APRIL TENTH, and I am NOT happy about this nonsense. The bright side of our bi-polar weather is that it randomly swings to really warm as well, and that is what it's looking like for this weekend!
I'm headed up to Columbus Saturday for a little weekend trip to see some college friends. Although it's just an overnight, packing always has been/still is a struggle for me. I've slowly gotten better at it with the help of lots of practice, Pinterest tips...and the most important...getting rid of a bunch of clothes. The less I have to choose from, the less time it takes! I do have a few essentials that I love, and I thought I'd share them with you :)
1) Hunter Boots -
Because it's Spring, it's prime rainy season here in the Midwest(that is if it's not snowing *EYE ROLLING ENSUES.*) I broke down and bought a pair of Hunter boots two years ago, and honestly, I haven't regretted them for a second. They're a little bit heavy, but still super comfy to walk around in. I wore them for entire days on my Ireland trip and had no problems. They're great for ease of mind to keep you dry, and any mud or muck wipes right off. So for this weekend, Hunter boots, check.
2) Snacks -
I honestly don't go anywhere without snacks, so this should be a no brainer ;) In this case, I don't want to end up eating a bunch of junk/spending money while en route, so I'm trying to plan ahead. I'm packing a few small baggies of Pretzel Thins, water bottles, fruit, and Bel-vita packs, which are my go to breakfast on the go.
3) Gallon Ziplocks -
So you know those fancy packing squares they sell? Well, I just couldn't bring myself to spend the money. Instead, I bought a bunch of gallon ziplock bags, and I use them to pack outfits. I found them to be very useful on longer trips for holding dirty laundry, wet clothes, souvenirs or papers you want to protect, etc.
4) Primally Pure -
Guys, I'll have a post coming soon about my new facial routine with Primally Pure. I've never been good at this whole skincare thing, but since I'm also not good at the makeup thing...I figured I better take care of my skin since it's rarely covered up! This company's products are all natural, and honestly, in less than two months I've seen a big difference. More about that to come! Anytime I travel, even for a weekend, my skin goes downhill fast, and I'm hoping this will stop the slide. So, oil cleanser, toner, moisturizer, check!
5) Audio book -
Last but not least, entertainment! Not too long ago, my aux hook up in my car died (RIP iPhone jammin :'( ) Luckily, the CD player is still going strong, so audio books it is! I picked up a couple from the library so I'll let you know how they are. When I'm not traveling by car, my go to is still music, and physical books. I haven't broken down and gotten any kind of e-reader yet. It just seems like cheating on my books...but it also seems really convenient so it'll probably happen sooner rather than later.
I would love to hear about your travel essentials, so send 'em my way! Have a great week friends :)
