Mother's Day is coming up fast, and I am the queen of good intentions, and last minute gifts. This project is super simple and cheap, but still really useful and meaningful. I'm going to have to come up with something else for my mom because she will read this(hi mom!) but maybe it can help you out ;)
You only need a few things to make mom a cute stationary set! Most supplies I already had on hand, and everything else was 50% off at good ol' Hobby Lobby, so all in all, this cost less than $15. I like to use the mini paper packs so that everything coordinates. It simplifies the process, plus there are so many pages, you can make tons of little sets. They are great gifts for any occasion, birthdays, Christmas etc.
Also, I've had that ink pad for a loooooong time people, and it's finally starting to bite the dust. Any suggestions, send 'em my way!
I always buy pre-made cards, because honestly, I don't think the process of making the blanks is much fun, or cost effective. The decorating part is my fav, so I stick with that. First I picked out five patterns from the paper pack, and cut them down to fit on the front of my card blanks.
Next, I cut the bookmarks in half, and stamped various sayings on them. Using the scraps from cutting down the patterned papers, I pieced it all together into five separate cards. Also, taking a straight picture is apparently not in my skill set, but you get the idea.
Finally, I stamped some cute envelopes, and wrapped it all up with twine. The whole process took less than an hour. Also, shout out to the clear stamps/stamping blocks...they are one of my favorite tools. you can see through to keep your stamping even, and the stamps are cheaper to buy once you have the clear block. They stick with static cling, so you can reuse them over and over!
Here's the finished product!
Five cards, five envelopes, and no searching around next time mom needs to send a card...this is a guaranteed hit! Unless your mom doesn't like nice, thoughtful, creative gifts, and in that case try a gift card ;)
