Just in case you haven't read Part 1 (it's been a while since it was posted,) check it out here!
Ok, so here's the deal. The first post that I wrote was full of legitimate things that frustrate me. So in this edition, I thought I would keep things a little bit more lighthearted, and share some of the things about the cyber dating world that I just find funny. Enjoy ;)
1) The Dead Fish Picture. You know the one I'm talking about, guy squatted down in jeans and cut off tee/flannel holding up some random species of fish to show it off. I would be willing to bet money that 80% of male dating profiles, on any platform include a dead fish picture. Is that supposed to show us that you can provide for us? Is it really just that you are THAT impressed with yourself for catching a fish? Are we seeing a metaphor about fish in the sea? I don't really get it, but I would really love too.
2) The Baby Picture. This is the part where guys try to hook us in by posting a picture with a cute baby. Honestly, I'm all for allowing myself to be sucked in by that. Because cute babies are the best. The caption though, that's where the humor is found. Just about every single one has a caption that is some form of, "not my baby." My favorite that I saw recently was, "obligatory pic of me and a baby to make the ladies click on me." I mean, kudos, at least you know what you're doing!
3) The Music Section. I feel like this gives you such a good feel for the other person. Music is powerful, right? Anyway, when you write that your favorite thing to listen to is Gregorian Chant...well maybe I'm just not a very good Catholic, but I have to say, that's not exactly what I'm jamming out too.
4) And finally, to the guy who, with no other prior conversation, messaged me to say that, "if you don't have a set prayer schedule for the day, we will not be a good match. I won't marry someone without specific time set aside for prayer," slow down there buddy. Sometimes I like to start off with a simple hi. Do you like mac and cheese. Isn't the Greatest Showman an amazing movie. Ya know, just a thought. But you do you, boo boo.
And with that, I leave you with the always timeless words of the one and only Miss Shania Twain, "up, up, up, there's no way but up from here!"
Happy Friday friends :)
